Cultivating Dignity,
One Plate at a Time

What started as an emergency response effort has blossomed into a community pillar.  Originally founded by Hal Helwig, the food shelf originated from grant funds received from the State of Wisconsin during the covid pandemic. Since his passing in 2022, many hands have worked tirelessly to keep his dream alive to address the needs of those in our area experiencing food insecurities.

Today, our hopes and plans extend beyond the base of our provision, which is in partnership with Feed My People in Eau Claire, WI. We are working very hard to establish  partnerships with local farmers and grocers to expand our offerings and help address local sustainability goals. Supporting our local farmers and businesses is a must!

The Heart of Our Mission

Volunteers Joining Hands
We operate on donations and volunteers! And caffeine...lots of caffeine!

The 2026 Board of Directors includes: Ann Thompson, Jill Fries, Judy Crandell, Melissa McIntyre, Lisa Zoet, and Martha Bono (with one Board position open as of March 2026). In addition, we have many volunteers who dedicate hours every week to unload trucks, sort and stock items, and generally help manage the products and the grounds.  All are very dedicated to working hard to keep this operation running smoothly and efficiently.  We'd love to hear your feedback and ideas! Feel free contact us (below) or stop in on Saturday - we'll be there!
